Course Overview:

The course is a training programme for individuals who have previously completed the two-day ATMMiF or AREA course. It provides a review of the ATMMiF content, an update on any changes in protocols and clinical procedures and an opportunity to refresh practical clinical skills.
 

 



Course pre-requisites:


Current ATMMiF/AREA holder or equivalent course recognised by the leagues
Doctors: GMC registration numberPhysiotherapists: HCPC registration number
Sports Therapists: Sports Therapy Degree and Member of Society of Sports Therapist

Full payment is required at the point of booking in order for a place to be guaranteed. 



Who is it for?


The ATMMiF Re accreditation course is designed for current holders of The FA ATMMiF or AREA qualification.
The course is a review of the ATMMiF content, an update on any changes in protocols and clinical procedures and an opportunity to refresh practical clinical skills.

This course is recommended by The FA to be taken on an annual basis, specifically at the one and two year points following completion of the ATMMiF (Previously AREA) course.




Course content:

  • The course will concentrate on the practice and consolidation and will be essentially practical in orientation, with moulages based upon the below content:
    Medico-legal issues and duty of care in football
    Emergency action planning
    Primary A-E approach
    Sudden Cardiac arrest
    Basic Life Support (BLS) with use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
    Airway management and oxygen therapy
    Limb threatening fractures/dislocations and their emergency management
    Head injury and the FA concussion guidelines
    Spinal injury and management (inclusive of extrication)
    Medical emergencies in football


     














   

Dress code:

Standard dress code on the course is casual.

Should the course require any alternative dress, this will be detailed in the course joining instructions. 


Medical information/physical requirements:


If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in any practical activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses on application. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

Please provide any relevant information regarding the above Medical Information during the application process.

If your application to enroll is successful learners will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course.  



Practical Information:


Please note that if a learner has a learning difficulty that requires additional time during written and or practical assessment or any specialist requirements for font, text size or assessment purposes then they must be declared at the point of application and as a minimum 7 days prior to the course commencing to allow for adequate requests to be met. Please note a copy of your educational needs report will be required to be submitted along with your declaration.

Please note that if a learner has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the learners requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.



Filming and photography:

Please be aware that filming and photography of our courses and learners may take place as part of the course delivery.
