Course Overview:

This course is focused on the knowledge, understanding and skills require within Talent Identification and recruitment in professional football. Building on the principles learnt on the Level, it explores sophisticated scouting strategies, how to make justified, evidence based decisions when recruiting players to your team.
 
Course pre-requisites:

-Hold a valid FA Safeguarding Children qualification
-Hold an FA Level 2 in Talent Identification (desirable)


To support this application, you are required to send a supporting letter from your line manager outlining your suitability for this course and how it forms part of your ongoing professional development. Applications will be reviewed by the FA after the application deadline. FA Education will contact you with the outcome of your application by the 15th July 2019. 


Priority of applicants:

1. Those who require the qualification as part of the Premier League's Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
2. Those working within recruitment in professional football and have completed the Level 2 in Talent Identification.

NB: Should we receive high number of applications we will only be able to accept 1 learner per club. 

Course content:

The course objectives are split into the below six modules:

Module 1: Critical thinking skills, match reporting and purpose and report analysis.  

Module 2: Bias in decision making, utilising data to inform, decision making, psychological influences on TID.

Module 3: Maturation findings and strategies to influence decision making and technical and tactical profiling.

Module 4: Psychological aspects of TID, links between TID and talent development.

Module 5: Relationships, communication, leadership and management

Module 6: Review of course programme, impact on working practice, assessment

























Dress code:

Standard dress code on the course is casual. Should the course require any alternative dress, this will be detailed in the course joining instructions. 

Medical information/physical requirements:

If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in coaching activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

If your application to enrol is successful learners will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course.  

Practical Information:

Please note that if a learner has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the learners requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.

Please be aware that filming and photography of our courses and/or learners may take place as part of the course delivery. Such filming and/or photography may be used for the following purposes:
 
(i) to assist coaches at the club with their professional development;
(ii) for wider coach education purpose; and
(iii) for promotional purposes such as online advertising campaigns of our courses. We might also share this footage or photos with local and national media.
