Course Overview:

The FA UEFA A is the highest practical coaching award available and builds on the technical and tactical content covered in The FA Level 3 (UEFA B). In addition this course will focus extensively on the effective application of the principles of play in the 11 v 11 game and the development of specialist individual roles within the team.

Course pre-requisites:

Have completed The FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football qualification (or equivalent).
Must be a Senior Professional with playing experience.
 
Note: The FA UEFA A Preparatory Course is no longer a pre-requisite and FA Education will not deliver this course anymore.
 
Learners are required to complete an online application form and submit the following documents to education@thefa.com within seven working days of their application:
 
 Coaching CV
 Evidence of achievement at UEFA B (certificate, UEFA B action plan optional)
 Where appropriate provide their Individual Coach Development Plan
 
Any additional letters of recommendation from appropriate personnel (this could include FA Youth Coach Developers, FA National Coach Developers, the PFA, Academy Managers, Heads of Coaching etc.) are welcome. The Learner will also need to provide a copy of their individual coach development plan(Where Appropriate).
 
Providing the application proves successful, the learner will need to complete a pre-course task and an initial self-assessment.
 
Priority will be given to coaches who are living and working in England. During the selection process priority will then be given to full-time coaches within the senior professional male and female game, then to those who need the qualification as part of EPPP requirements. Part time academy coaches will be considered also based on their current situation, and to full time coaches outside the professional game. FA staff will be considered if the qualification is relevant to their role. Overseas coaches will be considered if places are available.

Who is it for?:

For coaches who are, or who intend to be working in the 11v11 football within the international, professional, semi-professional and elite girls or youth programmes. 

Note: The FA UEFA A Senior Professional Players Course is  for current or previous full international players, including women's senior team or full professional contract players with a minimum of five years experience. Subject to interest, applications from professional footballers with less than five years experience may not be considered.

The practical delivery of themed coaching sessions, utilising formats from the course syllabus in both a phase-of-play or small sided, then 11v11 practices.


Dress code:

Standard dress code on the course is casual. For practically based courses, please bring sufficient outdoor kit/clothing for the duration of the course. The venue ask that candidates refrain from wearing muddy footwear inside the building.

Should the course require any alternative dress, this will be detailed in the course joining instructions. 

Medical information/physical requirements:

If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in coaching activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

 If your application to enrol is successful learners will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course. 

Practical Information:

Please note that if a learner has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the learner requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.

Please be aware that filming and photography of our courses and learners may take place as part of the course delivery.

Your application will then be vetted by the Course Director and a payment link will sent to you via email if you are successful in your application. Your place on the course will not be guaranteed until payment has been made.
