Course Content:

Elite player performance depends on strong mental qualities and the development of specific psychological skills.

Looking at building commitment and confidence during pre-season, engaging confidence and control pre match, engaging the 'Five C's' during the game and renewing confidence and commitment after the game, you will learn the psychological skills used by the best players in the world so you too can develop unshakeable mental toughness.

You'll explore relaxation and imagery techniques, how to set goals effectively and how to intergrate concentration cues into practice. Learning about mental demands of the modern game and how to profile players mentally, you'll get a chance to work in groups on a case study and learn how to improve the mental toughness of an individual player.

Topics covered in the course include:

Psychological demands of the game
Profiling players
Developing mental skills
