Course Information
Course Prerequisites: There are no definitive prerequisites for Psychology for Football Level 4 and acceptance onto the course is subject to FA Learning approval. The following guidelines are for learners to determine which level is most suitable for their coaching/academic background:
Current holder or have enrolled to attend Psychology Level 3 or current holders of the UEFA B Licence or FA Coaching Certificate Level 3 or degree in sports science or psychology
Course aims and objectives: Building on the material delivered at Level 3, this course looks at taking mental skills onto the field. The Course is both theoretical and practical and investigates the role that coaches play in designing appropriate practices that allow the development of a range of mental skills.
Practical involvement: The course may be physically demanding. Students will be required to participate in practical sessions on a daily basis. Students should come prepared and be physically fit when arriving on the course.
Please note that if a student has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the student's requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.
Assessment / Verification:
Assessment is via successful completion of all workshop tasks and exercises conducted through the course.
