Who is it for?:

Learners will be those figures that surround players such as coaches, teachers, parents, sports scientists, physiotherapists and doctors.

This theoretical and practical based course looks at taking mental skills out onto the pitch.

Course content:

Research has shown that coaches not only have a vital role to play in developing mental skills in players, but that they can achieve this by incorporating some simple and effective strategies with their normal coaching sessions.

The Psychology Level 4 award shows you how to integrate the five core mental skills - the 5C's - into your sessions on the pitch.
To achieve this aim we look closely at practice design and coach-player interactions. As well as looking at the 5C’s in sessions on the pitch, we will also work through how to integrate them into a season long plan.

Topics covered in the course include:
5C’s on the pitch - Concentration, Communication, Control, Confidence, Commitment; Practice design, Coach-Player interactions
5C Season planning.
