Course pre-requisites: Candidates must be at least 20 years of age by the start date of the course and must be working with a team of semi-professional or professional players.
A letter or email from your club or employer confirming you have access to a team of players must be submitted within ten days of your enrolment.
Who is it for?:

The course is particularly relevant for junior practitioners (including interns) working in professional or semi-professional football.

The Level 3 Award is also relevant for individuals with aspirations of working in semi-professional or professional football as Physical Performance Coaches, but is also highly applicable for Technical Coaches wishing to extend their understanding of modern approaches used in the physical conditioning of football players.

The course aims to provide the candidates with an appropriate level of theoretical knowledge and practical skill to support the delivery of physical coaching interventions within elite football.

Course content: This course will involve both theoretical, pitch and gym based sessions.

Part One of the course will include sessions such as; Demands of the Game, Warming up and movement preparation, Coaching behaviour analysis and Energy systems development.
Part Two of the course includes sessions realating to; Developing stability and mobility, Developing strength and power and Nutritional interventions for football.
Part Three in June 2016 will include assessments.
Pre-course task: N/A
Post-course task: Candidates will be required to submit a log book prior to the assessments which will include session plans and case studies.
Course Assessment During Part Three the assessments will take place. Assessments tasks will include log books, case studies, practical delivery on the pitch and in the gym and an oral presentation.
Dress code: Standard dress code on the course is casual. For practically based courses, please bring sufficient outdoor kit/clothing for the duration of the course. The venue ask that candidates refrain from wearing muddy footwear inside the building.

Should the course require any alternative dress, this will be detailed in the course joining instructions.
Medical information/physical requirements: If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in coaching activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

If your application to enrol is successful candidates will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course.
Practical Information: Please note that if a student has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the students requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.
