  • An overseas study visit to an international tournament held in the summer of 2015

  • Course pre-requisites: To gain a place on the FA UEFA Pro Licence, applicants must meet the stated criteria below:

  • Applicants must hold a current UEFA 'A' Licence, with priority given to applicants holding the English FA Award

  • Applicants from outside the EU must hold the current A Licence equivalant award of that country as a minimum, with priority given to holders of The FA UEFA 'A' Coaching Licence

  • All applicants must have experience in the professional game (or womens equivalant) at senior level as a player (minimum five years experience), player coach, coach, assistant manager or manager

  • Priority will be given to applicants who have significant coaching experience with senior players in the domestic professional game


  • Course Who is it for?: The course is for those coaches who are currently working at, or who aim to work at elite level of football in a managerial or senior coaching capacity.

    Course description: The UEFA Pro Licence is the mandatory qualification for first team managers to work in the Premier League, therefore, the course is designed to prepare managers/coaches to work in elite level football (International, Premier League, Football League, and The FA WSL).
      Course content: The course itself is comprimised of four discrete competency based modules taught over an 18 month period in 7 blocks of learning. Distance learning and self-directed study will also be incorporated into the course.

        Dress code: Standard dress code on the course is casual. For practically based courses, please bring sufficient outdoor kit/clothing for the duration of the course. The venue ask that candidates refrain from wearing muddy footwear inside the building.

        Should the course require any alternative dress, this will be detailed in the course joining instructions.

        Medical information/physical requirements: If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in coaching activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

        You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

        If your application to enrol is successful candidates will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course.

        Practical Information: Please note that if a student has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the students requirements which may include bringing in footballers to ensure there are sufficient numbers of players.

        Enrolment: The course has an optimum intake of 18 and applicants therefore are required to submit their CV and accompanying letter to FA Learning by Friday 5th September 2014

        The applicants are then considered by the UEFA Pro Licence Admissions Committee, which is made up of a representative from The FA, The LMA, The PFA, The Premier League and The Football League, and the intake is agreed to commence the course in January 2015

        UEFA Education Transfers: Under UEFA guidelines, all applicants originating from other National Associations than The FA must complete a UEFA Cross Border Form (annex 10) before being approved on a FA Learning course. Exceptions are made for candidates who live, work or were born in England.
