Course Prerequisites: There are no definitive prerequisites for Psychology for Football Level 3 and acceptance onto the course is subject to FA Learning approval. The following guidelines are for learners to determine which level is most suitable for their coaching/academic background:
Current holder or have enrolled to attend Psychology Level 2 or current holders of the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football (FA Coaching Certificate) FA Youth Award: Module 1 - Developing the Environment.
Course aims and objectives: The course focus will generally be on youth players 12-16 and 17-21 yrs and investigates the psychological aspects relating to game demands, mental skills and performance profiling.
Candidates will be those surrounding players, i.e. coaches, parents, teachers, sports scientists, physiotherapists and doctors who work in and around football.
This course is ideal for both players and coaches involved in mental skill development and the design of mental skill programmes in football.
Assessment / Verification:
Assessment is via successful completion of all workshop tasks and exercises conducted through the course.
