The FA ISAK Level 2 - Application Process

Please note there are limited places available on this course, once all places have been filled a waiting list will be created for cancellation purposes.  Anyone registered on the waiting list will also be given priority for registration onto the next Level 2 course.

Course pre-requisites & Who is it for?:

An interest in the subject and access to a population group who require measurement is required.

This course is particularly suited to Sports Science staff.  Physiotherapists and Doctors that wish to upskill will also find this course beneficial.

Candidates MUST hold the ISAK Level 1 certificate and must have completed the Level 1 assessments within no less than 6 months of the Level 2 course start date.


Course content:

ISAK Level 2 is designed for those anthropometrists who wish to offer their subjects a more comprehensive range of measurements

A Level 2 anthropometrist can demonstrate adequate precision in 3 base measures, 8 skinfolds, 9 segment lengths, 13 girths, 7 bone breadths and has a broad understanding of the theory of anthropometry and its interpretation.



Where to go next?:

The qualification is valid for a period of 4 years from the date on the certificate.

ISAK Level 3 is the next level of accreditation and is designed for those anthropometrists who wish to engage in the training and accreditation of Levels 1 and 2.


Dress code:

Standard dress code on the course is casual.

As the course requires participation, please ensure that you bring with you to wear suitable clothing i.e. shorts and vest top. It is important that you wear clothing that is not too thick as this can seriously affect the accuracy of your girth measurements.

Should the course require any alternative dress, this will be detailed in the course joining instructions.

Please note: The nature of the ISAK course involves active participation in measurement, so all students must be prepared to measure and be measured.


Medical information/physical requirements:

If you have any medical conditions which limit/hinder your involvement or participation in activities, you are obliged to declare any relevant, current or previous injuries/illnesses. If you are diagnosed as an asthmatic, diabetic or epileptic, or have any allergies that the course staff needs to be aware of, you must advise us accordingly. Please note, a declaration of injury or illness does not automatically preclude you from any course.

You should further be aware that if you are on a regular course of medication for any condition, you must have sufficient medication to cover you throughout the course. Although first aid cover is provided (where applicable) during courses, no doctor is available to replenish regular medication, nor is there any facility to deliver medical treatment for chronic (longstanding) medical conditions.

If your application to enrol is successful candidates will be required to complete a Medical Form prior to commencing the course.


Practical Information:

Please note that if a student has a disability that may prevent them participating actively in the practical sessions, then this should be made known to the course organiser at the point of registration. The course organiser will then take any necessary steps to cater for the students requirements.
