Course Prerequisites:
Candidates must hold either:
- A Sports Science Degree Qualification
- A Chartered Physiotherapy Degree Qualification
Who is it for: The award has been developed for prospective Fitness Trainers and those currently with the responsibility of the physical conditioning of registered players in The FA Premier League and Football League, including Professional, Academy and Centre of Excellence players.
Course Aims: The award, as part of an overall quality control system of approved FA Fitness Trainers, aims to educate and train candidates in the knowledge, skills and practices required in order to deliver safe and effective football specific fitness programmes for teams and individual players.

Assessment: Extending over two years, the Course contains a residential component divided into two parts:- Part 1 (Year 1) and Part 2 (Year 2). Each part is of 9 days duration. Students will proceed from Part 1 to Part 2 by successful completion of examinations.
Re-assessment: It is recommended that students try to gain practical experience within sports environments in their own regions. There will be an opportunity to attend annual Fitness & Conditioning conferences post qualification.
